David Yurman + Jill Magid launch TENDER AMULETS

Jill Magid Studio is thrilled to announce a collaboration with American luxury jewelry brand David Yurman. The partnership is an extension of Magid's critically acclaimed public artwork, Tender, commissioned by Creative Time in 2020. As a "dispersed monument," Tender circulated 120,000 newly minted 2020 pennies into the U.S. economy, the edges of which are engraved with the phrase, "THE BODY WAS ALREADY SO FRAGILE." Tender creates an enduring dialogue on the COVID-19 pandemic's human and economic costs. The pennies will remain in circulation for approximately forty years.

The David Yurman x Jill Magid collaboration will feature two penny amulet designs edge-engraved with the same text in reverse, rendering each as a wearable seal and personal talisman. Available for purchase exclusively in David Yurman retail stores and on DavidYurman.com is a limited-edition 18-karat rose gold penny amulet and a limited-edition rotating penny amulet, hand-set with diamond and ruby baguettes—colors that evoke the red-and-white pattern of Tender penny wrappers.

100% of the net profits from the sale of these designs will benefit River Fund, a New York-based nonprofit which serves 160,000 households in all five boroughs and whose mission is to feed and empower those living in poverty.
